Did you know - you can save up to 3 lives by donating 1 pint of blood? Did you know - you get a mini physical every time you attempt to donated blood? Did you know - the CBB is the exclusive supplier to 20 hospitals and six Stat MedEvac bases throughout NWPA & WNY? All these reasons and more, we need to see you on Wednesday October 14th, when the Erie Regional Chamber partners with the Community Blood Bank of NWPA to host a community blood drive.

It's quick, easy and essentially pain free!

Donors need to be at least 17 years old or 16 with parental consent
Weigh at least 110 pounds
No tattoos nor piercings in the past 3 months
Be in general good health, hydrate (drink lots of water) and eat before donating
Photo ID is required to donate blood
Start to finish, the entire process will take approximately 45 minutes.
You get delicious goodies to snack on when you're done!

The blood mobile will be parked in our lot at 121 West 12th St. (this is the FUN green/black/white Erie General Tire building). We are taking appointments for this blood drive. If you would like to sign up, simply email Colleen Gross today! Walk ins are also welcome!

There are several precautions that the CBB has implemented to help ensure donor safety during the COVID pandemic.

Spaced out the donation timeslots and encourage appointments to ensure proper social distancing.
Masks throughout the donation process.
Temperatures of donors taken, prior to entering the bloodmobile (and of their staff prior to the start of their shift).
They clean all surfaces in between donors (chairs, clipboards, pens, squeezies, etc.)
They are handing out snacks and drinks to avoid common bowls of food and people reaching their hands in the coolers.

In addition, it’s helpful to remember that blood donors are a healthy population, so it is actually safer to be on our bloodmobile than to be in a grocery store, where you are among the general population!
