Event Description: ERIE, Pa - On Tuesday, March 24th, Crime Victim Center of Erie County will host a Community Awareness Night presentation at the Blasco Memorial Library Admiral Room from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Learn about the free services offered by Crime Victim Center, Bradley H. Foulk Children’s Advocacy Center, and Northwestern Legal Services. Additionally, those in attendance will be educated on the latest best practices and prevention skills related to child safety, internet and cybercrimes, and victim’s legal rights. Prior to the presentation there will be an open networking opportunity from 5 to 5:30 pm with complimentary snacks and refreshments provided by Wegmans Food Markets. Community leaders, stakeholders, and concerned citizens are invited to share concerns, ask questions, and provide input on the barriers facing the access to services. BACKGROUND Community Awareness Night is a collaborative effort to increase the general public’s knowledge, awareness, and access to services in Erie County. The purpose is simple- reach as many people as we can by meeting them exactly where they are. Too often, free services go unused because no one knows about them or has easy access to them via transportation or the internet. It is critical that each member of this community equips themselves with the information and know-how to successfully intervene and make referrals when necessary.
